A lot has changed over the last year. I want to stop creating random content and build a marketing engine instead!
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably noticed it’s been a little over a year since I last recorded a podcast episode. Honestly, life has been full, but in the best way possible, I’ve also had a lot of time to think.
One of the biggest changes happened inside my business. We recently launched new services, which means we’re now able to help loan officers with podcast editing, YouTube video editing, book publishing, and even more ways to get them seen.
As exciting as that is, it also made me realize something…
Most loan officers don’t actually have a content problem.
I think you have a disconnected marketing problem.
Think about your own marketing for a second. Maybe you’re posting on Instagram a few times a week, or you send an email when you remember. Every once in a while you record a video, and maybe you’ve even experimented with Meta ads.
None of those things are bad.
In fact, they’re all great!
The problem is that most of them are living on their own little islands.
Your email isn’t connected to your video.
Your video isn’t connected to your social media.
Your social media isn’t supporting your ads.
And because none of those pieces are working together, it feels like you’re constantly creating something new.
That’s exhausting. Believe me, I know. I was there. I am still there. I’m just coming out of it!
What if one idea could do six jobs?
That’s what I mean when I talk about building a marketing engine.
Instead of asking yourself, “What should I post today?” you start asking, “How many places can this idea live?”
Take this blog, for example.
It started as a podcast episode.
That same episode is going on YouTube.
From the same podcast episode content, I created multiple Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts.
The biggest takeaway from the podcast recording will be an email to my database of Loan Officers,.
And if there’s one message that I feel really resonates, I’ll probably turn it into a Meta ad that targets my ideal audience (Loan Officers)!
I didn’t create six different pieces of content.
I created one idea.
Now that one idea gets to work six different jobs.
And that’s a marketing engine.
Visibility on autopilot doesn’t mean passive
You’ll probably hear me say the phrase “visibility on autopilot” a lot moving forward.
I want to be really clear about what I mean, because I don’t mean you stop working.
You still have to create the original idea, and you still need to build relationships.
You still need to call Realtors, meet with referral partners, answer questions, and show up for your clients.
None of that changes.
The difference is that the content you worked so hard on, keeps working even after you hit publish.
A YouTube video can be discovered months, or even years, later.
A podcast gives people a chance to get to know you while they’re driving to appointments (because that’s when I get my podcast episodes in!).
An email keeps your name in front of your database, and a targeted Meta ad allows you to intentionally stay visible to the people you most want to reach.
Each platform has a different job.
But together, they become something much bigger than any one platform could do on its own.
